Returning iPhone upgrade

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hiya

I was sent the wrong iphone as an upgrade and was told to return to free post "Returns Dept".  This is a £500 phone!!!!!!  It won't be safe just through the post box and I am not paying to return a phone that was sent to me by a mistake from O2!

The returns label i was told to use is Returns Dept, PO Box 88, Leeds, LS88 1XL

Can anyone offer advice????  I don't want to send it and O2 say they never received it as it was stolen in the post!!!

Thanks

Even though it will be sent by a freepost service, you can still obtain a receipt from the post office that you will take the phone to.  Ensure that you or the post office clerk write the postcode on the top of the receipt.

The only alternative is for you to pay extra to send it.  It would be unfair for you to pay but you could try to get the cost refunded to you if you speak to O2 customer services.  Royal Mail Recorded delivery only covers about £40 for insurance purposes so you would have to use the Royal Mail Special Delivery method, which costs a bit more but offers you peace of mind to cover the cost if the phone went missing.  Royal Mail Special Delivery can be tracked.

Just ensure you get proof of postage and you are covered.

If you have a camera, or a camera on another phone, take some pics of the phone you're returning so that there's no dispute about it being sent back damaged in any way.
