I was very tempted by the ipad2 but in the end £100 savings won me over - very happy with the decision as well.
No doubts the ipad2 has some great features not found on the original - I didn't really want it for games, couldn't really imagine really using the camera on it as I have the iPhone 4. Very easy to get carried away with spec i.e. Faster CPU and more RAM - yeah it's nice and all that but not worth the extra £100 if your not going to use it.
That said would be very interested in the iPad 3 if they improved the resolution on the screen.
