Hello I was wondering if someone could help me I’ve recently joined 02 from being with a diffrent phone company an when I placed my order It given me the option to keep my number so I did all the pac code but then I’ve received a text that they can’t do the number port until 6th January.

how will this work would I have to turn off both phones an will I be able to use my new phone when it arrives in the morning or would I have to wait until my old number is transferred to my o2 sim to be able to use the phone ?

Hi @LUMC_0102

Let's ask @pgn

Should the sim be put in new phone now?

Or after port day which is supposed to be January 6th ...thank you 🙂 TallTrees

Hi @LUMC_0102 and @TallTrees - just getting back to this.

If you've already been through the PAC process, the old SIM will go dead (no service) soon, and after a few reboots, the new SIM will activate in the new phone - so no harm in putting new SIM in new phone. You will have no phone service until the port completes, but lots of other things to play with on the new device 👍

Keep both phones handy until all is complete though, just in case.

Enjoy the new phone!

As with many things O2, @LUMC_0102, there is no set time for it to happen - you'll have nothing, then restart the phone, and up it'll pop...
