My Husband is on Vodafone, 2 weeks ago he contact upgraded to an IPhone 4s, but he is a complete techonophobe so he gave it to me, it was never activated on vodafone,

i sent off the NUC req with the imei number on the box, and they have replied saying that it is not recognised.

So my question is, if i get an O2 micro-sim and transfer it exsisting O2 number onto it will this activate the phone, and if it dosen't can i use the microsim in my current HTC sensation XE till we get it sorted as i cannot be without my phone i need it to call home when i am at work.

really hope someone can help, i left Vodafone to come to O2 before due to the terriable customer service, and to tell the truth this experience has convinced me i made the right desicion i really hope O2 proves to be different

Only Vodafone can unlock the iphone for you I'm afraid. I think it would have to be activated on their network for them to unlock it.

O2 won't be able to unlock the phone. Only the carrier that locked it, ie Vodafone, can do the unlock. But yes, you can use your contract in your HTC phone until Voda come good with the unlock code.

If the sim card you have is for the iPhone 4S it will not work in the HTC. You need a mini sim, not a micro sim.

Yes, but you will need to get your account switched over to the new micro SIM and use a SIM adaptor. CS will do this for you.

Sorry. Have I given the OP wrong advice? How does a micro sim work in a phone that takes a mini sim?

If you are able to go into an O2 store you will be given the correct size sim for your HTC.

using a sim adapter - a wee bit of card it slots into to make it the right size
