Phone is barred - HELP!

Anonymous
Not applicable

o2 have barred my phone (against my will). I'm absolutely furious and will go through the formal complaint procedures, but in the meantime, does ANYONE have any tips on how I can get it back on? They first said they'd unbarred it but hadn't, then last night they did actually unbar it but its been over 24 hours and its still not on. I'm working away so I need it on but nobody on the o2 phone team seems to care! They say there's nothing they can do. Can someone please help?!

Ok, it'll be the automated security thingy that kicks in when the account number is used abroad and goes over a certain limit. It's annoying but can help if your phone is stolen and shipped abroad as it would save you a a massive bill. It's just on your account side so the barr should come off straight away. I would keep onto CS until someone presses the correct button on the computer wink

Have you rebooted the phone?

Yes, and reset the network settings but nothing is working. I read something about it maybe taking 72 hours for a handset barr...

Is it the handset or the account that was barred and why was the barr put in place?

They seem to think its OK to barr my phone when I go abroad - they can't seem to explain why they've done it, just saying that the barr has now been removed. But in the last conversation I had with them they mentioned something about barrs sometimes not ever being able to be lifted when you're abroad!! I don't know if its handset or account as I didn't know about that when I last spoke to them...x

Thanks... Its weird, because it just say No Service, and they have said they've removed the bar now but it just isn't coming back on.

You'll just have to keep onto them. Only CS can do it for you.
