I am travelling to the US this week and need to know how much I will be charged by o 2 to use my phone for calls and data. Help please.

If your phone is unlocked you may be better to use a local sim. Also calling and texting via Tu over Wifi is relatively cheap http://www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go

You can use o2 travel at £4.99 a day or just stick to tugo over WiFi only which won't cost you anything and will use your UK allowances.
