Not receiving calls or texts

Anonymous

Sorry if this is a problem that has been dealt with on the forum but I can't it if it has.

Quite simply I have an iPhone 4s and periodically it won't ring when I'm called and I just get a voicemail and texts don't come through for hours sometimes days. I can make calls ok most of the time like any other phone. It's just driving me a bit mad.

The other odd thing is that sometimes it will tell me I have had a missed call but doesn't ring. I have noticed that sometimes if I look at my phone by pressing the main button, to see if I have missed a call it is clear for a split second then will suddly vibrate once and show missed call, then I immediately check if it was just a dropped call, but the missed call says it was made 20 mins ago.

It's really starting to hinder my life as I need to be contactable at all times and I can't guarantee that if someone tries to contact me I'll get it! For example I have a family member in care who may need my immediate attention and if I don't get the call or the text when it is meant to come through it could have severe reprocussions. O2, please pull your thumb out.

I'd book an appointment with the Genius bar at an apple store. If they decree the phone as faulty you will walk out with a new one (if under warranty). If not faulty, I'd approach O2 for a SIM change....

Have you had the phone checked for faults? Why do you assume it's an O2 issue?

Thanks for response, I had a similar problem with my 3gs which is why I upgraded, you're right though I suppose I could have had two faulty handsets. How do I get it checked? back to O2 or Apple?

a very old thread but this has been happening for a long time http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Apple-iOS-Devices-iPhone-iPad/Calls-straight-to-voicemail/td-p/33299

Try turning cell/mobile data off for a bit and see if it helps

Are you in a 2g or 3g area when it happens?

You have more than likley enabled call block. Enter ##002# into the diler and hit call, this should correct the problem.

##002# is the command to cancel all call diverts, nothing to do with blocking calls and doesn't apply to text messages.

This thread is over a year old and is solved.

Your suggestion just turns off call diverts.
