Anyone else experience this? Whenever in a certain postcode area no data service nor text message available. Only calls. Having checked network status, tried resetting network settings, turned phone off and on, still no luck! Web chatted with the customer service this morning, only to be told everything is fine. Help!

@Stillwater you can check yourself here http://status.o2.co.uk/ and report any issues through this app https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/my-network

Also try switching to 3g as data may work then.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi MI5, thank you for reply. I have checked network status loads of times and reported loads of times too, no one seems to be able to spot any problems. I’ll try switching to 3G next time when I visit that location. Thanks a lot.

Update: Switching to 3G DID work! I visited that place again yesterday and set the network to 3G, text message worked instantly. Data transmission was slow but working. slight_smile That was a construction site so I was guessing probably the machinery on the site interferes with the 4G network nearby, yet still no idea why 3G was not affected. Anyway, lots of thanks to MI5 for your advise!

It could also be because everyone is trying to use the 4G network, so it becomes slow.
As less people use the 3G (thinking it would be slower) it actually performs as well as or better than the 4G!
