I have sold my simlocked iPhone 3G to someone who has just called to say they have put their O2 sim in the phone only to receive no service. They advise me they normally get a signal in the house, so they wonder why they get no service now.
I done a full reset of it this morning to remove all data and apps, so when I handed it over it was back to the "plug into iTunes" screen when it booted up.
If they have plugged it into iTunes could this have wiped the network info?
Would the factory reset have cause this problem?
Should I advise them to call O2 customer services?
Any advice appreciated.

Get them to reset the phone first (hold power + home key).
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
