No 3G signal on iPhone 5

I received my iPhone 5 in December and 3G seemed to be working not I do not appear to be receiving a signal!  I have checked postcode for signal strength and should be good.  Not sure if I have inadvertently done something I have checked settings and cannot see anything obvious I may have done ;-/  Any help / advice gratefully received!

I would suggest a visit to an apple guru then. As it may be a hardware fault.

have you tried all the usual things

Remove and clean sim

Reboot iphone

Reset netweok settings etc?

also check the status page http://status.o2.co.uk

Thank you - I checked status page and should be receiving good signal have not done any of the other things - I am really green when it comes to stuff like this!

Go to your MYO2 and check what the data bolton you have is. If it says 'for iPhone' at the end of it, for example, "1Gb Data for iPhone" then on your phone go to Settings > General > Cellular > Cellular Data Network and make sure the top APN is set to idata.o2.co.uk

 

If your data bolton does not have 'for iPhone' at the end then you will need to make sure that top APN is set to mobile.o2.co.uk

I did a software update the other night - would that have been it?  Apologies I really am a dipstick with this kind of thing!  Cannot look at software update at moment keeps coming up error

Do you see any errors or is it just you do not get the 3g symbol on the screen?

 

Is it just one location or is it in every place you go you get no 3g ?

 

You have checked that you have not turned 3g off ?

 

You are on an iphone tariff?

 

To see what version you have just go settings> general> about
