Set up iphone on Monday, upgraded from 4S. Did sim swap. Wfi and voice calls fine but no 3g connection. Have tried soft boot and hard boot. All settings are on. Have reset phone , network settings and still no joy. Any suggestions?

Contacted O2, checked account, was fine. Swapped sim card and still no 3G, so turns out handset is faulty. They're sending a replacement. Thanks for all your input, much appreciated
You're very welcome.

Hi
I'm wondering if the handset swap helped your 3G? My husband and I are having terrible problems with the mobile and data signal on the iphone 5S, and after 2 weeks of complaining to o2 and Apple we are offered new handsets but it seems to much of a coincidence that both of our phones are faulty.

I find in some areas that my 5s will hang on to a stronger gprs signal rather than switch to a (say) 2-bar 3G signal. If I toggle the 4G button in Settings (the only available switch) then it will usually eventually switch to 3G, if reluctantly.

I upgraded from an android to an iPhone 5S. Since the upgrade (and I did the sim swap) I was also unable to use 3G data. As mentioned above, I had to change the APN settings which have resolved the issue!
