My sim won't activate after 30 hours

My phone would not ring. It just went to answer phone. A shop guru put in a new sim. Now it won't activate. The gurus give me codes to input. Then tell me to turn off and on. It does not work and the guru contact is lost. This has been going on for days!!!

Hi @Anonymous Have you followed the advice on this link?

http://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-sims-and-devices/activating-your-sim

Included in the link is this advice from O2

To swap your sim text SWAP to 20220.Save the settings that are sent back and reboot the phone

Or, follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the swap my sim page and enter your mobile number in the box provided.
  2. We’ll then send you a six digit code by text.
  3. Enter your six digit code in the box provided.
  4. Locate the serial number for your new sim. You’ll find it on the back of the sim card. It’s the long number beginning with 8944.
  5. Enter your serial number in the box provided

Thats it..all should be working. It can take up to 24hrs.

If this fails then you need to contact cs again http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

That is unusual as a sim swap in store is normally done within minutes.

Follow the steps above to start again. Failing that go in store or call customer service.

I'd go back to the store and stay until they activate a sim for you and check your phone is working OK.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
