My phone doesn't detect the sim..

Anonymous
Not applicable

So my iPhone 4s has decided, just randomly, that it won't detect the sim. I've taken it out, put it back in again, taken it out and blew in the sim area, wiped the sim with a cloth. Nothing

The website suggested getting a new sim, so I tried. I had to enter my phone number so they could text me a code but how can I do that with no working sim?

I can't get to my nearest O2 store for another 5 days but I can't go without my phone that long either! Anyone got any ideas because I am pulling my hair out 😕

Press the top button and home button together until the Apple logo appears and then let go. This is a reset.

If no joy then -

Settings - General - Reset - reset network settings and try reset all settings if the first does not work.

Make sure the SIM tray is clean of dust/ lint.

If you know someone with an o2 micro sim then ask then ask to try theirs.

You can speak to o2 customer services to have one posted out or visit the official site to order one.

Go into your iPhones settings

Settings - General - Software Update, switch to Wi-Fi and, see if a carrier update is waiting to be done.

Or hook upto iTunes and check that way.
