I want to report a stolen phone. Unfortunately my phone has been stolen. The only option available on line is a phone number to report the loss. Unfortunately my phone has been stolen so I cannot phone O2 to report the loss. Is this an entirely new problem to O2 that no one could have foreseen?

I went onto O2 website in order to block my SIM, after having my phone stolen, and after a few steps, the web site tells me they need to send me a 'Text' in order to verify my identity. The 'Text' is to be sent to the telephone number ending in *** (my STOLEN phone!!) How am I expected to respond to a text, sent to a phone that I want to report as stolen??? As above, WHO THINKS THESE THINGS THROUGH???!!! Idiotic.
Now don't know what to do, or how to block the SIM - can anyone help?

@KGlitzy You'll need to borrow a phone to call the number in the above guide.
