Iphone5 and 4G

Hi guys

I wonder if anyone can help me please?  I have recently been given an iphone 5 but cannot connect 4G.  Can anyone advise me on how to connect to 4G please?  ☺

Well can I ask how anyone knows if they are 1800mhz.? Not disputing what anyone says but it would be nice to have some understanding of this? (otherwise it remains a statement I can't use as I have no idea what it means)

Well if you get 4G on an iP5 you are on 1800mhz.
Oh and someone else said they sometimes see LTE instead of 4G so I guess this is the 1800mhz signal too.

So it really is an exception then ...rather than normal?

1800 is limited to some areas only at present so at the moment it's an exception, yes.
