There is a light above the battery symbol on permanently. The battery life is awful even when background apps are turned off. Any advice? Thanks

Ok, so that's weird!
If it's not the torch function that's turned on I'd try a reset first and then a full backup and restore from iTunes.
Failing that I'd go to Apple for help.

Yeah not the torch...Tried the reset will try the full back up and restore next just in case!! Then a trip to the apple store indeed!
