Personal choice but the more apps / music / photos you keep on the iPhone the more storage required.
I have always stayed away from the 8gb versions but now stick to the 64gb version.
Just remember that if you do fill it up only external methods of storage are available or deletion of content no way to add more internal storage

http://www.apple.com/uk/icloud/ 0.79p a month but that is external storage and will not affect what can be kept on the phone all the time and to move content back requires space on the iPhone !

If you like tons of music apps photos on your phone then the 32gb but if you like a resonable amount then the 16gb is sufficient
as @adamtemp64 says, stay away from the 8gb versions as there will hardly be any storage left

Undoubtedly go for the 32GB, too late once you have found out 16GB isn't enough and don't forget how much space is taken up by the ios so you end up with maybe 12/13GB (not sure of the exact figures but Google it)

When I bought an iPhone 6 (as a combined Birthday/Christmas present) I was 'asked' to make sure it was 'at least' 64gb. It was for someone who takes many many photos and downloads a LOT of music....

So only around 11.5 GB in actual usage terms.
