Iphone 5 claim on insurance

Anonymous

I've seen this story a lot on the threads but I want to see if it's happened to anyone recently with an iphone 5? I rung 2 Saturdays ago to O2 to claim on my insurance as the lock button stopped working completely. They said they would pick it up last Monday and DPD did. Got a text to say it had been received at O2 and more info would follow shortly. No contact was made so I rung last Saturday and was told a new phone is on it's way and should be here by latest on the Wednesday. Got a text today (Tuesday) saying my phone is out of stock and I will be told when a new delivery date is possible so I rung O2 but insurance company have all the details and closed at 7pm (I rung at 8pm). So.... I've also heard that iphone5 isn't made anymore so 5s's are being sent out? Or phones worth less than iphone 5 are being sent out.... Just wondering what other people got! 😞

Most refurbishments/replacements are in 'like new' condition.

Here is an extract from the O2 website:

Refurbished phones

What is a refurbished phone?

It's a used phone that's been restored to its original state, so it's as good as new. You'll receive a phone, battery and charger. You can start using it straight away! View our refurbished phone terms and conditions. Comes with a 3 month warranty.

Page 6 - a replacement may be new, refurbished, re-manufactured or re-packaged.  A replacement will be of the same or similar specification - may be a different colour or model.  O2 hold no responsibility for the delay if you decide to wait until the model is in stock.

@gemz4the1 please stop apologising. We all learn on here.

The insurance stock provided by o2 is not from o2 but the company o2 outsource the insurance policy to.

Sooooo update... Rung insurance again today and was told the delivery hadn't come in and they've had a stock problem for weeks so I rung O2 and was transferred to some manager of insurance company to be told they have tons of stock of my phone and should be with me tomorrow. After having a go at them for 20 minutes and asking for compensation, I get a new phone. Lesson learnt: speak up.
