Hi,
Ive just upgraded to iphone 5 and have a few days left to cancel contract in cooling off period....
Im totally confused about the Iphone5 4G issue & would really appreciate some help
Sorry if there are already similar threads to this....
I have spoken to o2 advisor on chat who says iphone5 on O2 will definitely work with 4G LTE.... There is no coverage in my rural area yet - but they said if I visit a place which has 4G coverage (such as central London) - then ill experience 4GLTE on my iphone 5 straight away..
Is this correct? Is o2's iphone5 compatible with 4G after all?
Thanks loads for your help 🙂

Band 20 is required for o2 800mhz lte.
The iphone 5 uk version has no support for band 20 so will not work and that is why o2 put the iphone 5 4g promise page http://www.o2.co.uk/4g/phone-promise

I believe so.... Consistently giving out the wrong info is dangerous and leads to most of the issues we see on here when "O2 said...... and now I can't" type of problems.... !!!!

http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ note the gsm has no support for band 20 so from the horses mouth to coin a phrase the iphone 5 will not work on any uk network that will use band 20 (all of them) only on the 1800 mhz band ofcom allowed ee to use.
