International SMS problem iphone 4s

Anonymous
Not applicable

So i'm trying to send a text to a number in the US (Yes the country code and number are correct), it apparently goes through as it doesn't come up with the red ! in a circle like it would if it didn't go through. The user in USA doesn't get my message.

Now they send a message to me, it apparently goes through but i don't recieve anything either. Why?

Check in your settings that you haven't inadvertently blocked each other's numbers.

i only have one number blocked and that is a cold caller, also this is a new contact and my first time using international sms so neither of us would have blocked the numbers.
I'm assuming it's some problem with international texts?

I read on another thread it could be something to with message centre

"*#5005*7672# this tells you the message centre number installed in the handset

##5005*7672# this deletes the message centre number

Then **5005*7672*+447802092035# (for prepay customers)"

tried this also, didn't work and yeh i'm pay & go

Do you have international calls provisioned on your account? If not, you'll have to speak to Customer Service. The number is 4445 for Pay & Go and is a chargeable call.

I know it's a text. Calls and texts would fall under the same umbrella if it's international and it would have to be set up. The charges would be quite high too, I would imagine.

Edit: Take a look here. I believe you can buy a bolt-on: http://international.o2.co.uk/internationaltariffs/calling_abroad_from_uk#

You also need credit as texts to USA won't be included in your allowances.
