Increase time the iPhone rings before diverting to Voicemail

Anonymous
Not applicable
O2's FAQ for iPhone has the following topic:

"Can I increase the length of time the iPhone rings before diverting to voicemail?

Yes, just like any other handset you can change the length of time the iPhone rings before diverting to voicemail by entering **61*901*NN# SEND (NN is the number of seconds in increments of 5 and a maximum of 30 seconds)."

This code is incorrect. It should be "**61*901*11*NN# SEND"

Hope this helps anyone.

Just dial 1760 and that will turn off voicemail. Its a free call. Call 1750 if you want to turn it back on.

Ahh steve.. you forgot the poor forgotten call alert service. Dial 1710 from your phone. That turns your voicemail off then turns on a text alert service. Whenever you miss a call if your phone is off for example, you'll have a text waiting for you to let you know who it was.

What turns voicemail back on?

By the way, does anyone know what you actually are setting if you miss out the 11 from the code (as per the post at the top of this trail of posts)? I accidentally did that first, and set NN to 20. I got a message that I had successfully set "Sync data circuit call forwarding when unanswered", "Async data circuit call forwarding when unanswered" and "Packet access call forwarding when unanswered". What does this mean in practise? What is the default setting for me to set it back to?

I got these on-screen messages too, after attempting to extend my ring time by dialling *61*901**30# (which was posted in topic viewtopic.php?p=6081#p6081 in 2008).
Does anyone know what's been set and, more importantly, how to unset it?

I posted this a while back and in spite of asking it to be made a sticky, this question has cropped up numerous times since.

Here's some codes I found a bit back.

Not reachable (For example when the phone is switched off or out of signal/service)
To activate= **62*901#
To cancel= ##62#
To check status= *#62#

Busy (For example when your engaged on another call, or you reject an incoming call)
To activate= **67*901#
To cancel= ##67#
To check status= *#67#

No Reply
To activate= **61*901*11* number of seconds #
The *11* only needs to be entered if you wish to set the length of time the phone rings before diverting to voicemail. The standard ring time is 30 seconds but you can have anything from 5 seconds to 30 seconds (in increments of 5) by using the *11* method.

To cancel

# # 61 #

To check status
* # 61 #

I don't know why O2 don't just make 30 secs the default like other networks - It would save all the repetitative Q's..... Smiley Frustrated

"**61*901*11*NN# SEND

The NN at the end is the amount of seconds before diverting. I put in 25 and it works.

Thanks !

Works for me. Iphone 5s now set using the above code to 25 seconds before answer phone. Where SEND is written just press the call button.
