IPhone 5 mobile data prob

Anonymous
Not applicable
Yesterday I brought an iphone5 on contract. I asked to take my PAYG number with me but when the girl in the shop tried it didn't work. She rang O2 who said to use a contingency back up. No one in the shop knew what this meant. I got home and checked the nano sim card ( which had no number assigned to it for some reason)and the leaflet said how to do a sim swap. I did this...............big mistake. New phone is now set up and working to a point. I can make and receive calls and receive texts but cannot access the internet and can't send texts out. The text I received from O2 gave settings for mobile data for PAYG but the data settings on the phone are for idata.co.uk. I can only assume during the swap the sim is still on PAYG but i need it on my monthly contract. Is the any way i can rectify this or do i need to replace the sim. Thanks in advance

You need to talk to o2 directly to sort this out.

But wait until 12 as it looks like from another thread they have system issues and that could be the issue

iPhone 11 Pro 256gb on unlimited data
iPad Pro 12.9” 2020 256gb refresh o2 family discount
Apple Watch series 4
My first mobile was in 1995 a CM-R111 from sony on Cellnet.

Quite often we see calls being enabled before data and finally text services. As adam says above, give it a full 24 hours (also reboot the phone from time to time) before chasing CS.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
