IMEI bars

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi there,

I'm very confused, I've just spoken to 3 consecutive chat operators who have stated categorically that by barring my handset, the screen will lock. Turning the phone into a brick with no access to photos, notes or saved messages.

The sim bar blocks the sim

The handset bar locks the screen.

They were all very specific and assured me beyond all doubt that this is the case.

However I see contradictory info all over the web.

Can someone let me know it this is in fact the case?

Cheers

No, an IMEI bar will just prevent the handset from connecting to a mobile network.
If there was no pin lock on the phone anyone will have full access to the phone contents.

Well the chat operators seem to be giving out misleading, and quite frankly wrong information. As has been mentioned numerous times in numerous threads it's best avoided!

I kind of suspected that, you have no idea how clear I was. I had them state this to me with no ambiguity numerous times. 'That's absolutely correct sir', unbelievable. What's the point of these guys?
