Hey there,
Out of all my contacts, there is one that I can't send text messages to, despite having no problem calling or receiving their texts. It always comes up with the red triangle error message. I tried to delete the contact and do it all new but it won't work still. I tried +44 and without country code. No success.
I checked the messaging centre number, which is correct according to my pay-monthly account.
I don't know what else to try and whether my friend has to change any settings on their phone? They haven't experienced any such issue before either.
Very odd!
Thanks for your help!

Can you try texting them without selecting their contact from your contacts list but rather typing it in manually?
Does calling them work? Are you sure you are texting them with an SMS and not iMessage?
If you know the number is definitely fine - perhaps they have a bar on their account?

I just tried to type in manually, but it recognised my friends name (and it didn't work). So I guess that's out of question.
I never used iMessages before.. just turned it on, but with it on, it doesn't work either. I think she doesn't have an iphone as far as I remember.
Anything else I can try on my part?
Thanks for your help!

That's strange. If you know that her number is definitely not barred or restricted in any way then you can give customer services a call and they can check all the texts between you and her to ensure there are no issues.
Have you tried replying directly to a text she has sent you?
Also, if you put *0# at the beginning of the body of your message it will send you a delivery report as soon as O2 sends the message to her, can you give this a try?

Have you checked that your friend hasn't indvertently added you to the phone's blocklist?

I tried the *0#, still not getting through. Comes straight up with the red - not delivered icon.
Do you have the number for the customer service? I tried earlier to find a way to contact o2 other than this forum and it's all being catagorized into catagories this doesn't fit under..
I asked her numerous times to check her phone, so I will do that again. Though it's odd that I can call her no problem and also get her texts ok.
Thanks for your help!!
cheers
