How to tell if my 4G is working? 5S

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi Guys,

Upgraded to a 4G tariff today. How do I check whether or not my 4G is active and working properly on my phone? The 4G button is switched on, but other than that I don't really understand how I'm supposed to tell if it's working? (iPhone 5s)

Cheers.

when in a 4g area the data logo will change to say 4g and speedtest will be faster.

You will see "4G" at the top of the screen (instead of 3G, G etc) and if you do a speedtest you should be getting at least 20mbps download.

You should see a 4G logo in your status Barr next to O2-UK

You also need to have a 4g SIM card. It will say 4g on it.

as you have the 4g data switch  your sim is 4g you must have had the carrier update to O2 15.6 and the account upgrade has processed

now you just need to be in a 4g enabled area to test it

As the others have mentioned, your 4G will be on if there is the 4G logo on the top of your phone next to the O2 logo. If next to your O2 logo says 3G, EDGE or GPRS then your 4G is not on. Even if you have 4G on your tariff, it will not work if 4G is not working in your area. In areas where 4G has been introduced, it could still have intermittent problems so you probably won't get 4G 100% of the time due to issues with the mast in your area.
