How do I get online outside of my house?

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've bought a second hand iphone and I'm paying for unlimited internet access but when I leave home and my WiFi disappears I can't get a connection.  I have Enable 3G switched to "ON" .  A circle appears when the WiFi symbol disappears

Have you got an iPhone data bolt on?

O2 don't do an unlimited data tariff unless you have an old legacy one from a couple of years ago.

Wi-fi is unlimited but you will need to be in range of an O2 Wi-fi hotspot for it to work.

Check your APNs....idata.o2.co.uk if you have an iphone data bolt on although if you have unlimited data, I would suspect it's an older tariff.

In which case the APNs should be  mobile.o2.co.uk or wap.o2.co.uk (both should work).

The circle you see is gprs style coverage which is really slow Internet.

Perhaps your in a weak fringe coverage area. Do you get 3G coverage anywhere ?
