I got a new handset from insurance after damaging i phone 4s now i cannot connect to wifi anywhere the selection bar is greyed out ive uploaded ios7 since thinking it may solve it but no joy and cant get help anywhere now Ive used all my inclusive data and have a 3G symbol on my phone but cant use facebook safari or even access icloud Im thoroughly fed up any ideas???

Ok.
press the top sleep/wake button and home button together until the apple logo appears and then let go.
This is a soft reboot.

Have you tried,
Settings, general, reset, reset network settings
and or

If no joy then you could think about booking an appointemt with your local Apple Store Genius Bar

Another avenue is ;
Go to Settings and turn Airplane Mode and Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
Power up
Go to Settings and turn Airplane Mode and Do Not Disturb OFF
If that does not help, backup your content and go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings and then restore from the backup.
If that still does not help, take it to an Apple store genius bar for testing by the technicians.

Did you try the suggestion in my other reply.
If your restore does not help then use the link to arrange a Genius Bar Appointment.
They will look after you.
When you swipe up from the bottom of the iphone screen to open up the control centre will it then allow you to turn on wifi there ? Just an idea.

I have tried all of the above Thanks for your help think I shouldve put up with cracked screen instead wouldnt have this problem then !!! Can I send this handset back? Ive only had it from insurers 6 weeks?

Great genuis bars miles from lincolnshire thought there was one in lincoln my contract is up maybe Ill just try somewhere else n get new phone cant even power off now which is poo!!

You would need to check the small print in your insurance cover.
Typically its 14 days.
