Help! iPhone 5s issues....

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello, this is my first post so please be gentle...lol

We have 3 iPhone 5s's and a Nokia 1020..

Away from home all the iphones work perfectly

At home all of them will make or receive a call then after 30 or 40 seconds the other person will not be able to hear me, yet I can hear them perfectly.

Spent 10 to 12 hours with various parts of O2 tech, here is a list of things done..

Reported fault (local mast issue) O2 agreed and let me know that the fault had been resolved (it had for 2 days, then the fault re occurred.)

Obtained a boostbox (it was setup incorrectly and I spent another 8-10 hours with the boostbox team)

Received another bigger boostbox, worked straight away.

Current boostbox will not log any phone on automatically it will only work by putting the iphone in aircraft mode and then back. This logs the phone on to the boostbox for about 10 mins then the boostbox drops the phone and never picks it up again.

Did a network reset of one phone.. No difference.

Did a full reset of the iphone 5s and set up as a new phone ..No difference.

All of this started happening when I upgraded to ios7 on the 4s (coincidence?)

I believe that we have a mast issue as the phones work elsewhere perfectly.

If that was the case everyone in my area would be affected, wouldn't 02 tell me that?

Its got me tearing what is left of my hair out. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Sounds like you have done all that can be.

Updates to ios has caused some issues in the beginning as ppeople had not completed the carrier update at the end of the process.

A member called @adamtemps64 may be able to help with the boostbox issue. His knowledge is extensive.

One alternative is to visit a genius bar at an Apple store to have the iPhone's looked at. Make an appointment first from Apple's homepage.

Only the boostbox team can help with the boostbox issue I have never used one and so few questions are asked here. (what speed is your broadband connection?)

Re mast issues get the my network from o2 app and use that to report the issue again from all affected handsets.

As this is happening in one location only handset / ios faults can be ruled out asa it would be everywhere.

Thanks both, I agree the mast must be the issue, unless there is something in my home interfering with the cellular signal. Apart from usual wifi, dect phone, airport express, I can't think of what that might be. The Broadband is 120 mb down 11 up so its not a bandwith issue with the boostbox.

The o2 App doesn't work with business accounts, (sorry I should of mentioned that)

Ahh well back to the drawing board....

Many Thanks

Ross

PS i'm a boostbox expert!! Ask me any question!

The my network o2 app will work for businesses (i am using it ) agreed the my-o2 app will not work direct itunes link to app https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/my-network/id529440671?mt=8

The my network app alows you to test in your area and also report faults through the app and if no signal then report via wifi.

In the past I have found out that older iPhones do not like the newer software and it doesn't work well.

I went to the Apple shop about 5 times with an iPhone 4s and the phone kept being reset and then i got a replacement one.  It worked ok whilst in the store but as soon as I put my back up data on the phone it didn't work well.  This suggested to me that it was an issue with the new software and apps being compatible with the older iPhone.  Lets face it, the new software and app updates are primarily for the new iPhones and the older iPhones are ignored.

I find that the new software works ok on older iPhones for some but for others it doesn't work.

In the end I gave in and purchased the iPhone 5.
