Anything that might weaken security won't be popular here, I can almost hear someone phoning in without their log in details and saying "I have the order number though." to get into an account.
They're likely to be removed anyway as personal details are not allowed here.

Orders going out don't follow any type of numerical order so pointless knowing anyone else's number.

Bit of a strange question this!
Why would anyone in their right mind hand out their personal order number???
hmmm bit dodgy if you ask me

Nothing dodgy, the order number is useless to anyone else.
It would just help them give O2 an order number and say Person X with order XXXX received their handset and they ordered X days after me.
I guess!
