Going to be charged twice this month?

Anonymous
Not applicable
I didn't want to call as it hasn't happened yet, however I started a new contract in my name on the 24th May, I have just had the contract price taken out of my account, which is only 2 weeks after getting the phone, now it is saying I have 15 days until my next bill arrives, does this mean I will be paying twice this month? I don't get why though!

You get your first bill immediately which includes the first 1 or 2 days of your contract plus a month in advance. After that, you go onto a regular monthly billing cycle whereby your bill is generated and you pay 14 days later.

We see this same question asked so many times. Aren't the initial charges for a new contract customer explained fully, either in writing, if the contract is taken out online, or by store staff if the contract is taken out in store, and if it isn't being explained fully, why isn't it?

It was fully explained to me in store the last time I took a new contract, but I guess it depends on the store or the person you get?

Explained to me clearly via phone as well. In fact the advisor said I now have to go through our t's and c's..it's part of you taking out a new contract. Although I was 'wishing she would hurry up' so to speak... the billing cycle was part of this conversation..

It has never been explained to me, when I have made the initial monthly contract with O2 shop in Skipton nor when I renewed my monthly contract May last year

I've learned about the relevant details regarding bill payment here on the community

I generally don't bother with 'small print' anywhere ... because I believe 'they' can squiggle out of 'their' obligations ... & ... me as the 'peasant' get 'sKrwD' anyway ... I am of a basic / simple brain ... & ... it totally 'does my head in' 'arguing the toss' so I usually 'pay up & shut up' or 'vote with my feet'

When you get your notification of a bill it says it'll be taken out of your bank on or around the time of your payment schedule. This is, as the others say, about 14 days after the bill is generated.
