Find my iPhone/iPad.

My nephew had the misfortune of misplacing his iPad, but thought it was recoverable as he had the above App installed on his device. He had the Wifi Only one, and if you turn off the WiFi from the Control Centre it renders the feature useless! You can then connect it to iTunes and reboot it as a new one so it sort of defeats the point of having it.
I know it's a bit late saying to disable the access from lock screen, but worth bearing in mind for anyone else!

I thought find my phone could only be disabled if you had the correct apple id available as you have to confirm the password to disable it?

Hi

It's true if a person turns wifi off or removes a sim from one or an iPhone it cuts ties.

However you can remotely send a lock , erase all info and a message so when or if it's turned on they will take effect.

However with activation lock enabled no one can use the iPad to download / update apps.

That'll only work with a computer / iTunes it's been synced with.

iCloud is synced with the original Apple ID so they can't use that either.

All they can do is sell it for parts. 😞

As I said in the first response - It cannot be reset without the Apple id.
