Can anyone help with a cheaper way of getting an iPhone 4 unblocked from EE so can use my O2 sim, being quoted £100 to unblock, surely there's a cheaper way to do this, been with O2 for years & sick of EE after a month of problems.
Anyone out there able to help point me to cheaper way to unblock my phone, be much appreciated,

It's £8.99 now I believe from EE

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Mate, it's a pain but it does come through eventually.
Get ee payg sim
Put on a tenner top up
*important*...
...register the payg account with EE online (if you don't, the unlock request will fail)
After a day, fill out the ee unlock form
Wait 14 days.
You will get an email telling you to sync to iTunes to finish the unlock.

I work for EE. The process has been updated. You can now pay for it to be unlocked in store slight_smile

Just go to ur local ee store, say you would like it unlocked they will take cash/card payment and in 14 days it will be unlocked

Hi @Anonymous Thanks for that information. Can I ask though why it actually takes 14 days to unlock? That seems a hell of a long time for a relatively simple process?

I often ask myself the same thing. I guess the EMT Team (our unlocking experts) dont have such a big team!

I had a note 4 for with o2 and it was unlocked in a few hours after the request

Yup 6 long arduous minutes.
Tab z4 took 18 hrs tho, I was fewmin'

Cleo, the iphones take same time with others too, they have to send a request to apple with the imei so it can be done on the apple servers. All part of security being kept within apple control.

oddly eough we advise 7 days for Apple and 7-10 for anything else. I tend to say 14 so it makes it look better when they get it sooner lol
