Hi I am new to the forum so forgive me if this has been asked before.
I have an I Phone 5. I synced my settings along with 853 E mails that are stated in red but are not on the phone. How can I get rid of the phantom 853 figure??
Thanks in anticipation.

Hi,
Try deleting the e mail settings and re enter them.
Or reset the iphone by pressing the top power button and home button until the apple logo appears and let go.
Look here https://discussions.apple.com/message/23533091#23533091
I've done this before.
ie marking them as read and then unread etc.

You're welcome.
It does seem to look like a bug.
Occasionally I do get unread e mails when their is nothing there and the info within the Apple link does clear them.
Take care.

I have occasionally had this bug where it shows I have emails, when infact I haven't.
What I normally do which I find works is:
Go into Settings, scroll down to Mail, Contacts, Calendars, touch this.
Next touch one of your email accounts and then follow the below screen shot. You will need to do this for all your email accounts too.
