I know that I could scroll through my texts/imessages and individually save them but they are buried amoungst thousands of texts over the last couple of years. Is there anyway of just pulling out those photos? Either on a pc or via an app maybe?
As an aside I have my iphone4 synched so it is all backed up etc but is there a way of backing up my sms/mms's seperately so I could look at them on my pc and archive them that way?
I keep trying to find this out via Google but so many sites are just people spamming software. I don't have a problem with using a piece of software but I'd rather reccomendations come from real people.

If you want to just save one or two then that's exactly what you can do. I'm talking an unknown number spread over 2 years! And when you can only see x number of texts at a time you can't do it that way.

This works PERFECTLY!
Costs money but it allows you to save all your message conversations in different forms, download just images etc. Amazing and so good to know that I can archive that material now.

Glad to hear it
It's funny to think how many pictures we probably have stashed away in our inboxes somewhere

Don't think so unfortunately.
Also makes you realise how much space is taken up by photos sent to you by others that you don't realise.
I now have pdf versions of conversations in a lovely part of my life that I can safely store.
