Contract ending

Hello my contract ends on 18th February so my phone will be fully paid for. I do not wish to keep this phone nor do I want to keep paying after my contract ends. What exactly happens when my contract ends please? Will I still be charged the same monthly amount or will that be cancelled out and I start to pay for each call, message, data usage etc? I don't wish to upgrade early either - I don't have much money to afford an early upgrade then a new phone/contract

You need to call O2 on 202 and give notice at the end of January.
