Settings are usually obtained from the simcard or sent by O2 to the phone.

If you are having data connection issues there are different options to try.

First try cleaning the simcard and rebooting the phone.

Try a soft reset by holding down the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears at which point the phone will start the reboot process.

Try going into settings > general > reset > reset network settings and then reboot the phone.

If you need to enter the settings manually then follow the steps below :

  • Tap Settings
  • Tap General
  • Tap Cellular or Mobile Data
  • Tap Cellular Data Network or Mobile Data Network

Now you will see a page headed Cellular Data or Mobile Data.

Enter the settings below:

APN : idata.o2.co.uk  (PAYG : payandgo.o2.co.uk)

Username : vertigo

Password : password

Visual Voicemail  (PAYG : n/a)

APN : idata.o2.co.uk

Username : vertigo

Password : password

MMS

APN : idata.o2.co.uk (PAYG : payandgo.o2.co.uk)

Username : vertigo

Password : password

MMSC : http://mmsc-ac.mms.o2.co.uk:10021/mmsc

MMS Proxy : 193.113.200.195:8080

MMS Max Message Size : 2097152

MMS UA Prof URL : leave blank

Note : If you have a standard data bolt on rather than an iphone tariff, substitute mobile.o2.co.uk for idata.o2.co.uk

Reboot the phone and you should be good to go.

That alone wouldn't prevent your data from working.

As mentioned on your other post, make sure data is turned on too.

Hi

Followed the steps you suggested but when I re-boot the phone all settings have reverted back to what they were. How do I save the settings I input manually ??

@Bobbyboy

The settings are picked up off the sim card.

If you can't get the correct settings to save, you have the wrong sim.
