I want to free up some space on my iPhone.
I've deleted some apps that I don't use and I have deleted music and photos that I don't want.
Is it possible to clear the (I think it is called cache?) on the iPhone. I know deleting the cookies and internet history is possible on Safari but I was wondering if it can be done on apps? Specifically Twitter and Daily Mail. Both of those apps I use collect data and just keep adding to my memory. The Daily Mail one takes up quite a bit of memory. Even though the old stories are not there, it seems to add to my memory every time I refresh the news.
Has anyone got any other tips to free up space?

Typically deleting the offending app will delete the accumulated data and then re download it. However it will 'grow' again.
Quite a bit of space is taken up with the OTHER section which can be viewed in iTunes.
This holds saved data and Os files.

If you use calendar then delete your old entries.
Delete old e mails and SMS and iMessages.
Delete videos.
Clear browser caches.
Clear history.
Clear safari reader history.
Delete old / rarely unused apps.
I use DropBox for data instead of having it on my iPhone.

Some restore via iTunes and set their idevices back up as a new device then re download their contact etc via a backup from iCloud or iTunes.
However again it will grow again.
As a learning curve if someone is running close to the storage capacity after cleaning up then it may be an indication to next time choose the next level up in capacity ie 16gb to 32gb, or use a phone with SD Card options.

I tried deleting and re-downloading the Daily Mail app and I was happy as it was about 100mb, but as soon as I opened the app it was over 600mb being used.
I always wondered what the 'other' section is - thanks for the link
