Adding these or sending long messages or the same messages to over i think 5 people would be classed as MMS.

Try use imessage if to another iphone user or whatsapp or viber which are alternatives.

From o2.

If you’re using a Smartphone to send text messages to more than one person at the same time, you could be charged the cost of sending an MMS (picture message)

This happens because either:

- The message contains icons, emoticons and symbols or an email address

or

- The way some applications, such as Facebook, integrate with your contact list

To stop this happening, if sending text messages to multiple contacts make sure they don’t include symbols, icons or emoticons.

Also you may want to disable the integration between your contact list and other applications, such as Facebook.

Hi

Yes, that seems to be the case.

Few members on here have been charged for that.

Search the forums this has been going on since xmas 2012 so a year now, nothing new just the software updates to phones has caused the automatic conversion to mms and not o2 changing the way it bills.

If we are being picky that link price is not strictly correct it says add 50mms for 10p each when the price of the bolt on is £5.11 O2 copping an extra 11p slight_smile
