Solved: Apple Watch / Spotify not working through airpods

Does anyone know why my Spotify music Wont play through my AirPods when there are connected to my Apple Watch via Bluetooth? I have to take my phone with my everytime, even though I pay for extra data ?

I can only assume you haven't paired your pods to watch then?

You need the Spotify app on your watch.

I have the spotify app on my watch, it will not play through my airpods unless my phone is present though!

It’s because the Apple Watch doesn’t support Spotify to be played without the phone. Rubbish really, this is the only reason I paid £100 Extra for cellular
