Apple Watch 8 upgrade no cellular connection.

I've went through the usual process to transfer the eSIM from the old watch 6 to the new series 8 and have received notification that it was activated but it constantly shows no connection.
There are no error messaages and CS just sent me to a generic help page.
Is this related to the problems others are having regarding activation?

Many problems with esim and Apple watch.
Generally, a switch to physical sim fixes it.

I meant if the phone was using an esim.
I know you can't change the watch sim.

Just to update on this, I switched the airtime plan back to the previous watch and then back to the new watch and now it all works properly 😀
