Hello, I was first in my local O2 store today to order the iPhone 5S. I paid £329.99 up front for the phone and I have to wait 6 weeks for it!!!! Why do I have to wait 6 weeks for the phone when the online orders show a delivery date of the 24th September 2013. This is redicilous!!!! I have never known anything like it. I'm an O2 customer and because I want to upgrade early to a O2 Refresh contract I have to either pre-order the phone in store or by phone. I can't do it online. And I have to wait six weeks. Yet, if I am a new customer who wants to order the phone online I can get it on the 24th September. Where is the customer loyalty in that!!!!!

Same position here, so I'm not sat in a phone queue to speak to cancellations. If I need to buy out my contract to leave O2 then I will given this poor level of customer "service".
I expect existing customers who were promised the ability to upgrade to a 4G ready phone once O2 had that service to be able to actually upgrade, so to not have this ability online is absolutely rediculous given the phones being overwhelmed and my experience of dealing with the stores and their lack of accurate information.

Hi,
I really do appreciate your frustration.
Happens every iPhone launch.
To buy out your o2 contract because the phone is in limited supply is a little aggressive IMO.
Patience is a virtue.

Never happened to me before and I've had an iPhone since the first version.
Having said that, this is the first "s" phone I've bought, and that's for the 4G as backup for my ADSL as I'm a contractor and need the speed and flexibility of working from different locations.
Buying out my contract is a way of moving from poor customer service. All the carriers are the same these days and loyalty means nothing to them, so they can't expect it back from me.
PS: 20 mins in a queue to speak to cancellations - they're really not bothered about customer retention...

It's in limited supply because Apple couldn't get enough manufactured to meet the initial demand (I think because of the processor) and Apple keep the lions share for themselves, not much o2 or any other phone carrier can do about it. Most people are not going to get it on launch day.
It's annoying but chill out, it's just a phone, you'll get it when more come through.

The website is also saying for both the gold and silver that it is 3 to 6 weeks for delivery.
The space grey on the other hand is saying "in stock" for all sizes. So by this I am assuming that my phone will be dispatched "next working day" as stipulated. Here's hoping that the website stock status is accurate.
Might get it by next week, waaaaaay before the people who went instore

why did you not call?
CS can do the early upgrade costs as well.
then a few months down the line (when hype has died) say your employer has just avised you of the open offer

You can't get through on the phone, lines are very busy.
And re the open discount, when they finally applied to the iPhone 5 I asked my company to find out if those who had already got the iPhone 5 could have it, they checked and were told no. I can't remember how long that was after the phone was released.

o2 Customer Services will be ultra busy with people upgrading or taking out new contracts for the new iPhones.
I'd imagine the phone lines will be ringing off the hook !
