02 Pay as you go - data connect total failure everywhere

Hi all,

I have an iphone 4s

Over the last few weeks ive had many conversations with 02 gurus and they cannot solve this problem. I signed up for 02 payg about 6 weeks ago and have never once been able to connect to the internet from all kinds of different locations across the south east, including central london with full 3g signal.

They keep telling me to check settings and try a new sim etc etc etc but it appears that the data part of my account is not yet activated.

If i try to connect, even in an area with full 3g signal i just get the following message - you are not subscribed to a mobile data service.

I had a text from 02 with a massive long web link which i cannot use as it will only accept the link from a phone not a pc, this link may have something to do with it ?

Any help would be great, no offence but ive totally had it with 02 guru chats !!

Resetting the network will always load the apn off the sim card you are using so as viridis said above you prob had the apn set from the voda or virgin sim you had previously tried.

Hi,

Ive remembered what it was, it said something like 02 WAP or similar, i deleted it as requested then the phone would not receive any signals at all. I then reset and it was all sorted, it definitely was not just doing a reset that fixed it.

Hope this thread helps other people and maybe the 02 gurus too !!

It should help others because the settings I posted initially are the correct ones for connecting iPhones to data. When you deleted what was requested and then rebooted the phone it would have found the correct O2 apn. Glad it is sorted now anyway wink

Text the word active to 2020, save and activate the settings that get sent back then reboot the phone.
