When i go to order this - the option to take insurance ALSO pops up down below it for £5.  I'm assuming you don't select it if it's included?  Curious...

Thanks

It's already included for free mate.

No need to select it.

That's confusing. You really dont know what to do for the best. Include it and pay twice...or leave it off and don't get it at all. I personally would ignore it...

Edit I was late posting so ignore my comment please...Fear

The 5 pound is the optional loss or theft cover.
The included insurance is damage only

It's in the first section but is not well mentioned on the shop page.

Good point

"30GB iPhone 6s and 6s Plus tariffs

After 12 months, this tariff will swap you out to the latest iPhone with no buyout charge. We’ll pay off your Device Plan and give you the freedom to get that future iPhone when you want it.

Also included in this tariff is Damage & Breakdown Cover, to give you ultimate peace of mind. It includes breakdown cover for year two of your contract. It’s just like extending the product warranty that comes with your phone from one year to two. The policy also protects you from any accidents. So if you do drop or drench your phone, you’re covered.

Claims are unlimited and the excess for each claim is £55.!

The £5 supplement has been poorly passed on to potential customers, I think I've only seen the figure mentioned once but I can remember where.
But that is what the 5 pound insurance is, loss and theft.
