hi recieved a new iphone 5 for xmas,cut down blackberry sim put into iphone and get message only compatible sim cards from supported carrier may be used to activate iphone.Please insert the sim card that came with your iphone or visit a supported carriers store to recieve a replacement sim card.

now the sim card still works in blackberry.will i have to go in store to get a new sim?the phone is an o2 phone i believe when purchased

got a new nano sim from o2 shop,that didnt work contacted seller realised she'd sent me a tmobile phone....doh

Was it not stated on the advert? See if the seller accepts returns or your choice is limited to getting a T-Mobile sim or re-selling on ebay.

Did u pay for it using a debit/credit card? If so and the seller wont cooperate.

Get your card issuer to chase it up n refund you.
