Unlocking a phone

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

Having MAJOR issues trying to get my Iphone 6 Unlocked.

I purchased the phone through O2, had a contract and when the contract came to an end I paid off the final amount on the Phone.

This contract was then closed as I had a work phone & number.

I want to give the phone to my granddaughter but her family use EE.

Contacted O2 support and they told me to fill out the online form.

Did that, then get an email saying they will not unlock as I didn't enter the correct security details?

Sorry, didn't know where to sign in blood....

Got all the old bills, the original contract, phone number, IMEI Number etc etc

The contract is STILL in the old contracts section of my 02 ????

Just want it unlocking.............................

It's not your password that is needed though, it's the answer to your security question, which can be reset in your MyO2 http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2
But, as I said, if you call, they will ask you different questions to determine if you are the account holder or not.

You'll have to speak to customer service if you can't remember your security details as they can ask you some different questions to confirm your identity

AND.............

Now whenever I try and do anything all I get is "Oops Sorry we are having some technical issues" or "Form Not Submitted"

This is putting me off O2 for life 😞

If you have another live contract with o2 then you could use the iPhone on that and request it once it shows?

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

Thanks MI5 but that didn't work.

I just kept getting told I didn't have a contract with that IPhone?

Of course I don't it has ended, no matter how many times I explained it was like talking to a brick wall... 😞

Once the phone falls off the system you would need to use it again to register on the network. Either with a contract or PAYG sim - both would work, as explained in the initial link I gave you.
