Is there an O2 number you can ring from your handset to check your minutes and text balance?

I had the same problem after porting my number from another network. It resolved itself at commencement of next billing period. Balances available online.

when i sent the message it said i had 0 texts left. even though i get unlimited and it starts again on the 28, and its only the 6th so i dont see how i could have used all of my unlimited text (as unlimited is around 3000 isnt it?) or does it just say 0 because i have unlimited?

Yes, because you have unlimited there is no number for that so it shows as zero.
