IOS 6 - Map App Turn by Turn Navigation...?

Does the new map app on IO6 give you turn by turn GPS navigation by car?

Is it like the TomTom app?

Cheers

It does give you turn by turn spoken direction.

I've used it a few times and it performs every bit as good as a standalone Tom Tom sat nav, or Garmin sat nav that I've used in the past.

The turn by turn data that the Apple Maps app uses is provided from Tom Tom.

Indeed it does. But I'm wary of it not really knowing where it's going somtimes. My road still doesn't exist apparently.

It's like tomtom but its goes a step better by naming the roads as you go eg turn left in 300yards into blahblah road.

Well they appear to have updated it a fair amount finally the town of reading apparently exists:) just unfortunately a lot of glitches still of missing areas and warped maps.

Do you want a GPS app for your phone? A free great one I use is navfree uk and ROI.

Cheers guys, bit worried but will have to give it bash when I get my iPhone 5 next week.  Have not updated my iPhone 4 to IOS 6 as I hear too many problems.

Thanks Liquid.  I will keep that app in mind.

I hear Nokia have released their map app for IOS has anyone used it?

The reviews on the app store are not too good.

I haves used it on a Nokia and I like it a lot.

The iOS port doesn't appear to have gone as planned. It's better than the built in maps though:)

Google maps have put theirs in for validation. Fingers crossed:)

They must be constantly updating maps now, as it has improved lots since the release.  Where I live is now in colour! grin
