Buy a different phone from a reputable dealer rather than get ripped off.... Cheaper in the long term.

Only problem is it may not be reported as stolen yet. There have been scams of people selling phones then reporting them as stolen and claiming off insurance.

£1.99

Or phone the carrier the phone is registered on and ask them to check.

Do you know this person?

Unfortunatly there's no guarentee they won't block it afterwards:(

I'd advise getting their details, eg drivers liscence copy if it gets blocked go to the police. If this seller has an issue with giving you such details after explaining yourself I'd avoid them.

You can make payments to other people with Paypal accounts but I get the feeling you need to forget this phone. I would be very wary about it.

Also bear in mind that it may be locked to a UK network (even if stated it's not) and you have great difficult getting it unlocked for use outside of the UK.
