How Long Before o2 Unlock Iphone 5?

Got an Iphone 5 a few days ago, and just purely out of curiosity how long do o2 make you wait before they will unlock the handset?

I have a local mobile store that sells them and repairs them, very reliable store  and the have a  poster in window says the can unlock the iphone5

None that I trust haha. O well working in nightclubs before this I still have many bouncer friends:) if my back alley deal goes south ill ask my friends to get my money back:)
