Can anybody hear me?

I have an iPhone 4S - a swap out 2 weeks ago Because I had pixel burn on the screen. Today I was half way through a call to a mate and all of a sudden he couldn't hear me. He said it sounded like I had put the phone in my pocket and all he could hear was static. I tried ringing him back. I could hear him but he couldn't hear me. There was a lot of static on the line. He then tried ringing me but again, lots of static and he couldn't hear me.

I called O2 and after doing a soft reset and then a network reset they came to the conclusion it couldn't possibly be O2.

Have any of you had this problem?

was it the hardware or is O2 up the spout again?

Must be hardware or software as the calls are connecting.
